Making Peace with Empty

This month’s Conscious Prosperity Community theme is Letting Go.

What happens when you let go of something? When you release something? You end up with an empty space.

That empty space can feel a little frightening.

Think of the word empty — what does it call up to you? Empty space. Empty container. Empty stomach. Empty bank account.

The connotations aren’t so pretty are they?

But those connotations are based on old thinking. Old knowing. One more aspect I am inviting you to release this month.

Empty is actually the first stage of potential.

Empty gives rise to desire.

Desire gives rise to ideas.

Ideas give rise to manifestation of something new.

Empty is possibility. Empty is room for more. Empty is open.

The only way that empty remains frightening is by spending your time getting swallowed up into believing the emptiness and believing the emptiness is a sign of who you are (not enough) or a sign of what is to be (nothing).

Let empty be your sign that you are ready and open and willing for more. Let empty be your signal to amplify your belief in who you are and anticipate the new unfolding of your potential.

Make peace with empty and allow it to lead you to the fullness of your Being.

How Integrated are Money and Soul for You?

Last week, I set an intention for myself: To more fully integrate Soul into daily, physical plane, real-life living.

I’ve noticed I’m best at connecting when I’m intentional. When it’s quiet. When I’m in a good frame of mind to start with. Yet, when I need that connection most, like say when I’m angry, I often forget to connect in that moment.

This feels pretty “normal” to me. After all, we each are only human.

However, this feels like the next step of evolution — to be able to draw all that we know about who we are, into every moment.

When we draw all of who we know to be into our businesses, we end up with a business that reflects our values and brings us to life.

When we draw all we know about ourselves and the Universe into our relationship with money, we enter into a flow of money, which sustains us fully and completely.

When we draw all we know about ourselves into daily, physical plane, real-life living… we’re alive in a way that is juicy, full, and joyful.

I invite you to take a moment. Close your eyes and ask yourself the question: How much do I integrate Soul into my day-to-day life? What could shift for me if I integrated just a little bit more? What would I have to let go of to allow this integration on a more consistent basis?

Are You Carrying Pockets of Money Shame?

How does money flow in your business?

How do you treat money in your business?

Do you pay yourself a regular salary?

Do you keep regular records?

Are these easy questions to answer? Do they trigger anything within you?

After losing a bookkeeper that I’d had for more than four years and going through the process of setting up my business records and payroll with a new company, these kinds of questions led me to discover something that I wasn’t aware of: I was carrying a couple of hidden pockets of shame about my business finances.

What? How could this be? I thought that I had “dealt” with most of my money issues when I first allowed someone else to help me with my finances.

Yet, in the process of delving more deeply into my records and getting them even more organized, layers of shame revealed themselves. Intense worries and fears surfaced about what “they would think” about decisions I made years ago. I found myself waking up at night feeling anxious.

Money feels like such a private area. This topic touches us in very vulnerable places.

But, what is so interesting to me is that when I talk to clients, I talk about how money is simply another expression of the Divine. Money is simple “God in Action.” Money is love. I know these to be Truths with my whole entire being. How could this ‘jive’ with my pockets of shame?

As I connected into the Divine and asked this very question, here is what I heard:

These pockets of shame weren’t really about the money. They were about judgment of me. Judgments about how I’ve made decisions. Judgments about how I’ve chosen to create within my business, about the ‘rules’ that I’ve created for myself. These pockets of shame showed me the places where I haven’t completely and fully accepted my gifts and how I choose to live in my business and life.

Ah, what a gift.

As I’ve given myself even deeper permission to come into full acceptance of who I am, the conversations I’m having with my new financial company are going so smoothly. I feel a new opening around receiving even more of the Divine in the form of money.

Are you carrying any pockets of money shame? What do they highlight for you?

Why Do We Manifest Lack?

If we live in an abundant universe, and money is just energy, and we are Source and therefore have access to all the resources of Source…then why do we still experience lack?

If the key to running a successful business is to have structures, marketing tools, connections to Social Media, a list, and making offers, why do we do all of that and STILL experience lack?

We humans are such funny creatures! We take the gift of Free Will and we use it to create all kinds of conditions to receive. Our outer world is a manifestation of our inner world. Always. If there is lack of something showing up in your business or your daily life, there is a part of you that is carrying a lack belief.

Not good enough. Not loveable. Not safe. Unimportant.

However, instead of recognizing that the external is just a mirror of the internal, we desperately push for the external conditions to change first, so we can finally have the evidence we need to feel good about ourselves.

Waiting until you have proof simply doesn’t work. Even if you are able to create enough action to drive some income into your checking account, as long as the internal beliefs are still out of alignment with abundance, the flow will not be sustainable. You just end up stuck and in lack all over again.

The way to keeping a sustainable flow is to come into alignment with what is really true: you are good enough. You are loveable. You are safe. You matter to Source.

These aren’t just esoteric self-help statements. These are the building blocks that when assembled, create the firm foundation that will lead to the fertile business and life you desire.

When you heal the internal lack, the external lack evaporates and in a very sustainable way. At some level, healing the internal lack is all about making the decision to do it. And yet, it’s often not as simple as someone telling you that you must do it and you just say, “Oh, okay. Now I love myself.”

But when you get enough gunk cleared out of the way to shift your consciousness, you are able, one step at a time, to keep making the choice, making the decision, being the person who is love, who is enough, who is safe, and who does matter.

Then, evidence of your very fertile life and business shows up in droves and lack shifts to prosperity.

What is Growing From The Seeds You Are Planting?

In this time of renewal, of laying seeds that will nurture you for years to come, in this spring energy, I have to ask: in what kind of soil are you planting your seeds of connection with your potential clients?

Are your seeds planted in a bed of soil nourished by your deep connection to your own Source, by your focus on your purpose, by love, by expectancy?

Or, are the seeds planted in a bed of soil depleted by yearning, need, and fear? Clearly, over time, we’ve seen that fear in marketing works. People do buy.

However, what I’m learning, seeing, and feeling is this is no longer sustainable. It takes you far away from joy in your own life, away from your deeper purpose here on the planet, away from true prosperity. Plus, the world is changing.

So how do you make the shift away from using fear within your own marketing? Heal your own fears, so you yourself can step into a deeper connection with Source. The deeper trust you need and want will always be provided, a deeper love of yourself and your value.

When you stand in a place of love for yourself and your gifts, in a place of truly trusting the Universe to work with you, the business that unfolds for you will be Soul-satisfying, engaging, overflowing, and prosperity in all areas of your life will be magnificent.

The Rabbit Hole of Fear

Have you noticed that even in the meta-physical world, opposing viewpoints are more the norm than the exception?

For example: visualization. Some say to be super specific and see all the details. Others tell you to focus in the realm of feelings and let Source bring you more than you could ever imagine for yourself.

Handling fear has the same seeming contradictions. Viewpoints range from “the only way to erase fear is through action” to “never act when you are in a place of fear.”

I tend to resonate more on the end of the spectrum, which includes not acting from a place of fear. The business I generate when I act from a place of fear…not pretty! Yet, I would never have gotten as far in my business if I hadn’t completed a few actions that had me quaking inside.

From the number of conversations I have with colleagues and clients, I know I’m not alone. Fear is definitely an emotion that is present for those of us running our own businesses.

So, what’s the answer?

Not all fear is created equal; therefore, there isn’t just one source. Therefore, there isn’t one simple answer.

Sometimes, the source of fear is Ego, screaming loudly, telling us we are in immediate danger. Ego never wants change. Ego likes things to stay the same (even if the current events are miserable). Same is safe.

Sometimes, fear is our intuition, telling us something is off; we are chasing something that we really don’t want or need.

Sometimes fear is our greatest tool, helping us uncover the old false beliefs that are continuing to run our lives.

The only way to know the source of your fear is to step back into stillness. To connect with Source, Universe, God, Goddess. To come back to your intuition.

This is the first action step to take whenever fear is present. This connection will help you see the Truth of the fear you are feeling and give you exactly what you need to know in order to move forward.

There is much more about fear to discuss. For now, I’d love to share this Rumi poem I happened across today:

Keep walking, though there’s no place to get to.

Don’t try to see through the distances.
That’s not for human beings.

Move within, but don’t move the way fear makes you move.

Today, like every other day, we wake up empty
and frightened. Don’t open the door to the study
and begin reading. Take down a musical instrument.

Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

Do You Walk Your Talk?

Last week I found myself completely stuck in a very uncomfortable vibration. I could feel the edges of a transformation that has been unfolding for a while, and yet, it seemed the more I could imagine it, the more stuck in the old I become.

Try as I might, none of the tools I use to shift either my vibration or my clients’ vibration were working. Quite frankly, it made things worse because I started to question myself. I advise my clients against this every time, but I was so caught up in the physical reality, it felt like I couldn’t help but go there.

So, I was in the middle of absolutely ranting about how frustrated I was and all of a sudden Source handed me an image.

I was standing out on a hilltop and “over there” was the most beautiful life I could imagine. The life showed up as nature images, but I could see it was exactly what I wanted to unfold for me.

Standing between me, and this life that was so beautiful, and so present, but so definitely “over there” was a Plexiglas panel extending as far as I could see.

This felt rather torturous in the moment, because I could almost smell the beauty of the “over there” life.

In the image, I’m ranting and raving and shoving at this Plexiglas wall, willing it to move. Demanding that it move.

In the middle of the rant, I hear Source lovingly chuckle at me (and I’m not happy about it). Source tells me to “let go.”

That didn’t go over super well, I continued to push.

At some point I decided to “give up the ghost” and stop pushing. I had to because I was exhausted.

As soon as I gave up and released my desperate pushing, an amazing thing happened. A ‘hidden’ door popped open towards me in the middle of the Plexiglas.

I had been in the “right” place, simply “pushing” a door that needed to be pulled. All the resistance in the world was only going to serve the purpose of keeping that door more firmly shut. No ranting and raving was going to make that door work against the principles.

Almost immediately, a sense of peace washed over me.

In the midst of the struggle, in the midst of being hyper aware of what I didn’t have, I was given exactly what I needed to make the shift in vibration. Immediate relief followed as well as receiving two inspired action steps to take to create the transformation I was seeking.

I followed through on both of them; one gave immediate results, the other is still in process.

What was more important than even the physical evidence was the absolute knowing that Source has my back. Even when lack appears so solidly real, within it are the seeds for exactly what I need. Those seeds can take root as soon as the vibration shifts. Every. Single. Time.

What Plexiglas walls have you erected in your own life?

Where can you let go so that what is “over there” can manifest in your daily experience?

Tired of Spinning Your Wheels?

There’s no sugar coating the Truth: it’s your vibration in the moment that matters to your prosperity.

That Truth actually carries both sweet and bitter. When you look around, you know you’ve created what’s here. Yup, I know, that awareness brings a certain amount of frustration. Of sadness. Of fear that you’ll never be ‘good enough’ or vibrate ‘well enough’ to make any changes. Yes, I feel it too in certain areas of my life.

At the same time, this Truth holds so much power. And promise. And hope.

The trick, if there is such a thing, is to be aware of your vibration in the moment — not every moment of every day. That would be overwhelming.

Check in throughout the day. Ask yourself, where is my vibration?

If you, “Created from my thoughts in this moment…what would I be creating more of?”

Joy or fear?
Faith or doubt?
Abundance or lack?
Busyness or centeredness?
Service or servitude?

Where are you — right now in this very moment? This is the only moment that counts.

If you find yourself creating out of an emotion that you know you don’t want more of, that’s the time to shift. Do whatever you need to do, right then, in that moment, no excuses, to shift.

What happens when you can’t shift the vibration simply by wanting to shift? You use a tool, you use a coach, you release the old beliefs that keep that vibration in place, you go out in nature, you dance, you sing loudly, you clean up the gunk from your chakras… So many options, really.

So often, we wait until we can “do it right.” Or we think that because we’re feeling so low, so sad, so hopeless, that it isn’t possible to shift. Those are the times that you MUST shift. Otherwise, life will stay the same.

There’s no perfect way to do this.

There’s only the perfect moment: now.

Is Your Windshield in Your Floorboard?

Are you someone who loves driving? I do. Okay, to be more honest, I love being a passenger on a road trip — especially at night. There is something about being cocooned in darkness, feeling the absolute freedom of speed and movement.

Perhaps this is why the latest analogy from Abraham-Hicks spoke so strongly to me (and I paraphrase):

“The next time you get a new car, make sure to tell them to rip the windshield out from the front of your car. Instead, ask them to put it in the floorboard. After all, you spend more time in your life paying attention to where you are than where you are going.”

Where is the “windshield” focused in your day-to-day life and business?

Are you more caught up in the details of today or expectation of what is coming? Your ‘story’ or your dreams? Your commitment to your vision or trying to live to other people’s standards and visions for you?

What I love about this analogy is that it creates an immediate picture of where you are in relationship to what you want to manifest.

Since I heard this analogy, when negative or difficult emotions come up, I simply ask myself, “where’s your windshield” and almost immediately I am able to change my focus, my emotions shift, and so does my vibration.

How about you? Where’s your windshield pointing right now?

Appearances Can be Deceiving

Isn’t it interesting when we look at individuals who are successful in their businesses and from the outside, it appears as if everything is going their way? Such an interesting phenomenon.

I know from talking with enough high level coaches, mentors, and healers who are willing to be authentic that the vast majority of the time this is just an appearance.

The truth is that running a business is messy. Messy emotionally. Messy in the specific details. The people who are most successful are the ones who know who to go to when the messiness is getting in the way of success.

But many of us who have the drive to bring our gifts to the world also come with the sense that we should just know how to do it, that we should be able to step up the plate and just go full steam ahead without any assistance from others. Somehow, there’s this part of ourselves that thinks we are somehow going to be “less than” if we admit to someone else we need assistance.

What kind of assistance am I talking about?

Well, there’s help with learning business principles. This seems to be a little easier to ask for, as it is tangible and understandable that if you haven’t run a business that you wouldn’t know those kinds of details.

More commonly, it’s the help keeping ourselves out of our own way that seems to be the part we don’t give ourselves the luxury of receiving.

I’m giving you permission right now to ask for help. I’m giving you permission right now to create the village you need to build your success. That village may look like bringing on a Virtual Assistant, a bookkeeper, a CPA, a sales associate, a partner.

However, if you only look to external assistance, you are leaving your village without a vital resource — kind of like building an actual village where there is no water source. You must bring into your village someone who will assist you with the emotional messiness too, someone who will help you past the fears, past the procrastination, past the voice of your inner critic.

Just as you wouldn’t visit the village blacksmith on a daily basis, this resource doesn’t always have to be engaged, but you need to take it into account. You must give yourself permission to have this kind of a person on your team. Your success and your happiness as you reach that success depends on it.

It is as life giving to your business as that water source is to an ancient village. Perhaps this sounds a bit self-serving, as I am someone whom you could consider as a resource. At the same time, it is my duty to my gifts and knowledge to share what I know. Over the years, I have talked with so many business owners who tell me, “I just need to break through the fear,” while feeling like unless they do it themselves, it doesn’t “count.” Or that investing in those kinds of resources aren’t “good” kinds of expenditures.

Break through the appearances and past the part of you that believes you were supposed to do it alone. Dive deep into your passions, build your village, get yourself out of your own way, and bring your gifts to the world in a HUGE way.
