Money vs Inner Capital Expressed

So many people are teaching about creating money, have you noticed? I certainly have.

Honestly, much of what’s out there falls flat for me. What I’ve noticed about spiritually based entrepreneurs (meaning an entrepreneur whose personal “come-from” is heart and soul based, but whose business doesn’t necessarily have to look “spiritual”) is that we balk at just “making money.”

We want our money to come through our service to the world.

On the one hand, this can create energy blocks around money because we are placing limits on how we receive.

On the other hand, if we truly understand the Inner Capital model, this sets us up to create an amazing amount of money by being our heart and soul based selves.

When you learn money follows amplifying your own understanding of and belief in your own Inner Capital, you have all you need to create a flow of financial abundance, which supports you AND flows in harmony with all of your values.

What are you willing to love about your own Inner Capital today?

Shameless… A Personal Story

Every chance I get, I share that money is a teacher.

Class was certainly in session for me this week. I had a situation happen around receiving money from other people that created an overwhelming wave of shame.

Shame is an emotion that hasn’t been connected with money for me for a very long time. I thought I’d “fixed” this.

(Hint: if you find yourself angry because you’re experiencing an emotion or a particular type of life event… stop yourself as soon as possible.

Being “fixed” is a mindset that perpetuates the idea you were broken in the first place. While we are human, we are the proverbial onions. At the core of the onion is our deepest wound, which draws experiences, emotions, and situations that mimic the core.

The more re-connected we become, the more layers of the onion become exposed and look familiar. Fear not. You are doing nothing wrong. You are stepping more completely into the fullness of your being. When you look at the layer with curiosity you will hear the next divinely inspired step to reclaim your wholeness.)

After a few ugly-cry minutes, I took a breath, engaged my tools, and had a HUGE ah-ha.

The shame was coming from a young part of me that was having trouble feeling enough. I asked that part, “At that time, who was I measuring myself against?” The two people who popped up in my mind weren’t a surprise, but the thought associated with them was new.

It was true; I wasn’t enough for them — and that’s okay.

Better stated: I wasn’t enough compared with them — and that’s a good thing.

Best stated: I wasn’t them. Freedom.

At that time in my life, I compared how I showed up in the world versus how they showed up in the world, and concluded I was lacking. At some level I decided that different = not enough.

From my vantage point today, I can tell that part of me: I was never meant to be them. I wasn’t enough compared to them and that’s a GOOD thing. We are all unique beings. If we measured enoughness based on our similarities, the world would be an incredibly boring place.

Our enoughness comes from our Soul-derived-being and the fact we are of the Divine. Our expression of the Divine is always going to be different from everyone else. Young souls can confuse “different” and “enough.”

How this relates to money: We often limit our receiving because at some level we (unconsciously) don’t feel deserving, or enough to receive. This old part of me was still resisting receiving until I was “enough” based on old standards that were never mine to use anyway.

Now that I have re-integrated that part of me, I feel a fullness that wasn’t present before and an even deeper level of knowing of my own Inner Capital. I’ve re-opened a channel of receiving and am shameless (in the best way possible!).

The lessons aren’t always comfortable, but money is an amazing catalyst and teacher. What is money teaching you that you are ready to embody today?

What’s ready to go?

According to numerology, 2016 is a “9” year. A year of completions. A year of completing the old to make way for the new.

As we rapidly approach the end of 2016 (I know it’s only September, but it will be New Year’s Eve before we know it), what are you ready to complete in terms of prosperity, abundance, and money?

Cottonwood TreeI’ve been spending a lot of time down on the banks of the Mississippi these days, allowing myself to fill my body with the knowing of flow.

On my latest visit, I noticed the beautiful cottonwood trees which line the banks. Because the sand and shore are constantly eroding and moving, many trees have yards and yards of exposed roots.

The more the shore erodes, the deeper the roots burrow into the surrounding areas. At some point, the roots will run out of room because they will be blocked by the majestic bluffs which characterize this part of the river landscape. The tree will fall, making room for the new saplings which are growing up around the old growth.

Some of these trees look like they are barely holding on, ready to topple at any moment. The branches and leaves don’t look so good because there isn’t enough nutrition. And yet, it still holds; that’s what trees do.

As you consider what is completing for you in terms of abundance and money, I invite you to think about the habits and beliefs that are ready to go… and yet you cling to them because that’s what you do.

We make a lot of perseverance and hardship. We celebrate it. We reward it. We believe we will get rewarded if only we suffer enough. If we only hang on by our fingernails long enough, something will come in and rescue us, celebrate us for holding on for so long, proclaiming us worthy of all that we want.

Okay, perhaps I should substitute “I” instead of “we” in the preceding paragraph because sitting on the river banks among these beautiful trees, in the flow of this powerful river, it is the message I received.

While I have invited joy and ease into many aspects of my life, there’s another layer that is oh so ready to be released. What makes that realization easier to first admit, and then honor, is the knowing that like the small saplings around the base of an old tree, there is a new belief, a new knowing that is ready to take root and soar when it receives the abundance of attention once the old layer is released.

Take advantage of the potent energy growing as we move into the final quarter of this year of completion. What’s ready to release so the new knowing of prosperity and abundance can fully take root for you?

What’s Your Money Momentum?

Train PathRecently, I was out on a drive with my husband and as we were driving south, a train came at us heading north. Our paths were parallel, but the speed and momentum of that train was palpable; I felt the impact of the train’s energy in my core.

I knew in that moment why people who try to “beat” the train very rarely win. The chances of a train stopping it’s momentum at a moment’s notice are zero.

And yet we ask this of our money all the time.

We spend hours of every day fearing our money. We worry about whether we are going to have enough. We worry about tomorrow and out into the future. We try to control the flow of our money.

Then, we make an offer to our community and expect them (and money) to buck all the momentum we’ve created about “not enough.”

Not going to happen. The speed and momentum of your thoughts about money are palpable to the Universe.

Start creating new momentum around money today. Where do you already have enough? Even with a mountain of debt you can do this. Do you have a roof over your head? Do you have food in your belly? Have you experienced any kindnesses around money?

Place your focus here. I know “just getting by” isn’t enough for any of us. But if you start focusing on what you do have, you’ll slow down the train of “not enough” and build the train of “sumptuous prosperity.”

Resistance much?

First, a quick reminder. I would love to hear from you regarding prosperity. If you would like your voice to be heard (and help me out), please answer this anonymous, very short survey by clicking here. Or paste the following URL into your browser: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GVP2MZF. Thank you in advance!

I had a fun example of a Universal principle the other day.

One of the positives of having my son off enjoying his college experience is I get to drive our car as opposed to the family van. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with driving a minivan, but I have been enjoying the opportunity to drive something a little sportier!

Another gift is my son left behind a piece of technology — a device that connects an iPhone to the radio. This comes in especially handy because I love listening to Abraham-Hicks when I’m driving, but sometimes there is so much ambient noise I can’t hear the speaker on my phone very well.

Now, this little device works by using an FM station setting on the radio. The only downside to this is occasionally, when you pass certain kinds of wires, or get in range of other kinds of signals, static comes on instead of what’s playing on my phone. It had been so long since I’d used the device, I’d forgotten the inconsistency.

So one day last week I’m tooling along, enjoying the sun on my face as I drive, hearing the words of Abraham. We are getting to a really juicy part, I up the volume, so I can catch every word… and all of a sudden there’s static. Complete frustration.

When I finally am able to stop at a stoplight, I lean over and can see the track is still playing, I just can’t hear it. I turn everything off, feeling really frustrated.

Then I had to laugh: What a perfect metaphor for how many of us experience the divine and prosperity.

The Divine, source of all abundance, is constantly with us, constantly speaking to us, constantly guiding us to our greater expansion and good.

And yet we humans throw up resistance all the time: When am I finally going to breakthrough? When is it going to happen for me? I’ve been working so hard and the same thing keeps happening. There must be something wrong with me. I’m afraid I’m not going to get what I want.

This resistance acts like static, not only obscuring the voice of the Divine, but physically stopping our flow of abundance.

Where do you have the most resistance to hearing the Divine and/or receiving your flow?

The Downside of Setting an Intention (a Personal Story)

Don’t get me wrong. Having focus, purpose, and specific intentions is essential. Sometimes, however, the middle part between setting the intention and having it come to fruition is messy. And in that messiness, we can get so upside down we forget to continue on the path towards our intention.

Let me give you an example.

A couple of months ago, I spent time getting really clear about what I wanted for my business. Clarity about being seen. Clarity about who I wish to serve with my work. Clarity about loving and accepting my gifts fully and unapologetically. Clarity about how I wanted the business to give back to me, financially and in respect to time.

I felt uber good about the clarity. I felt focused, on purpose and clear about my intentions for the rest of the year. Part of my morning spiritual practice was spent envisioning and feeling this focus and purpose. I could literally feel the Universe rearranging itself to respond to my intention.

And then my personal life absolutely exploded.

My marriage of almost 25 years seemed to be crumbling right before my eyes. I could hardly recognize how either of us was being in relationship. In the space of just a few weeks, I felt like we had stepped on to an unstoppable train taking us directly towards divorce. This wasn’t what I wanted at all, and yet I knew there was no way to live with the situation as it was.

There was no way to be in the situation and be the person who could follow the intention she set with so much focus, purpose, and clarity. I had put a stake in the ground, so to speak, due to my intention and clarity and now it was time to choose how to honor that stake.

There was a point in the crumbling situation where my husband and I both had to stop and ask: what do we want to happen? It was truly a fish or cut bait moment. We were either in or out. And we each had to make that decision for ourselves.

As I allowed myself some quiet space to make my decision, the answer came to me quickly and with new clarity that I didn’t expect.

I knew, with my whole heart, that I was in. But it would require some letting go:

Letting go of how I thought life should and would be.
Letting go of some of the situations I have manifested.
Letting go of how he handles his life and decisions.
Letting go of my desire to “help.”
Letting go of my focus of what was wrong in our marriage and retraining the focus on what was right and what I wanted.

And then most eye opening for me:

Letting go of the story I told about how he lives life impacts my business.
Letting go of the story he has to be a certain way, so I can receive.
Letting go of the story my financial situation has anything to do with him.

And in these realizations, I witnessed the presence of the Universe, rearranging molecules to co-create my intentions with me. This is who I “needed” to be to allow the unfolding of what I really want.

Messy? Absolutely.
Divine? Definitely.

Could this have happened in a less painful way? Probably. However, I have been dealing with the entanglement of love and money issues for a long time. Honestly, it’s probably been since I was a young child. So there was a lot of energy tied up in this issue.

My husband and I are working through the relationship aspect of this unfolding. And I am doing the inner work to support BEING the me that supports the unfolding of my heart’s desires. Fortunately, these are unfolding in a harmonious way. I know that no matter what I am loved and supported, but being in this relationship is part of my heart’s desire.

I am deeply grateful we didn’t get so caught up in the messiness of this big shift that I lost complete connection to my intentions. I recognize the deep connections I have made to myself and my Soul as well as to my sacred practice all supported me in a profound way throughout this unfolding.

Keep setting intentions. Keep aligning more fully with who you are. And when life gets messy, allow that mess to lead you to an even deeper connection. Your heart’s desires are there in that alignment.

Be Vibrant!

May I ask you a question?

What would you like in your life that would make your life fuller? Juicier? More vibrant? (I’d LOVE to know your answers. Would you share them with me here?

What keeps you from being this fuller, juicier, vibrant you?

Often, the answer to that question: Fear. Fear of how life will change. Fear of what people will think. Fear of the other new choices you’ll make.

These are fears that can be hard to root out.

One of the very sneaky ways fear shows up is through money. Ego, that part of us which is most happy with status quo because it believes that is the safest way to live, says, “If there isn’t enough money, then I won’t have the resources to do what I need to do in order to be more vibrant. It’ safer to just be living on the edge, living paycheck to paycheck. Then I don’t have to worry about it.”

Doesn’t make sense to the conscious mind, but our Ego is quite satisfied knowing that life will stay safe by staying the same.

All of this can get overwhelming: how do I change? What are the exact beliefs I need to root out? How do I really make a change?

First step: Choose. Choose with every fiber of your being. Choose to be vibrant. Make it your intention every single morning and every moment during the day when evidence presents itself that seems to prove otherwise.

Print this picture out and stick it where you will see it first thing in the morning and last thing before you go to bed.

Choose to be Vibrant

HGTV and Releasing Judgment

I am an HGTV junkie. Seriously. Property Brothers. Love it or List it. House Hunters. Income Property. The only way to stop the addiction is to turn the TV off before the next episode has a chance to start.

Over the last several weeks, one of the programs (Love it or List it) has turned the tables a bit and has taken on their own cast members for house renovations. If you aren’t a junkie like me, the premise of this show is that a designer and a realtor team up. The designer does a remodel of your existing home, the realtor finds you a new home. At the end, the participants decide to “love” their new home or “list” it.

In a bit of a twist, the show took on the homes of one of the team’s designers and contractors.

I was floored. Their homes were in terrible shape.

This sense of amazement didn’t come as a result of a judgment of how they lived, but rather from the fact that these people are on TV all the time, helping other people create homes of their dreams, while their own homes are nothing like what they want.

I suppose I could go off on the tangent of how false TV personalities are — but that is not at all what came up for me.

Instead, what struck me was these people do beautiful work. They create dream homes for people all the time, despite what they’ve done (or haven’t done) for themselves. The results are evident. They know their gifts and use them even when their own lives aren’t perfect.

How many times have you held yourself back from giving your gifts to the world because your life isn’t perfect? How much shame are you holding onto that your internal house isn’t in divine order?

What if you could let this go? How much more energy, focus, and ability would you have?

Playing God in Your Business?

I love receiving clear guidance from the Divine. Even after all the time I have spent connecting with the Divine, the clarity with which the Divine will communicate with me still makes my head spin.

What I find interesting is how many different ways the Divine chooses to communicate the exact same message to me: Let Go. Let Me Help You.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t surrender easily. For better or worse, my mind works really well; I’m really good at puzzling things out. So, when the Divine tells me to Let Go… I hear, but I don’t necessarily listen.

This week’s message came from a Soul Language called Bridgewalker (and if you’ve been on this newsletter for a while, you may recognize the name). What this energy showed me was that the Divine’s job is to build the bridges; my job is to walk across them.

In other words, stop trying to build all the bridges.

Stop trying to find the right technique, the right message, the right “fill in the blank action.”

Take more quiet time. Be more intentional. Ask the questions. Recognize it isn’t that you are supposed to ask for “help,” but rather, use the fullness of who you are. Allow that fullness to build the bridges for you.

Don’t just hear.

Listen. Trust. Then act if it’s time to act.

This is where I keep stepping on God’s toes: trying to do it all myself. If I allowed the Divine to build the bridges more often, the flow would be so much different. The bridges are much more likely to lead to places I actually want to be… instead of building bridges quickly not really knowing where they are going to end up taking me.

Where are you stepping on God’s toes? What message does the Divine keep giving you in lots of different ways? How could your business be different if you allowed the fullness of the Divine to express through you?

Building Your Sacred Container So You Build a Business That Works With Your Life

How intentional are you about the sacred container that is your business? Meaning, how intentional are you about the very foundation of your business?

From an energetic perspective, your sacred container is the heartbeat of your business. The container will bring you business experiences: clients, contracts, JV partnerships, money, etc. Because of this, you want to be super intentional about how you create your container, so what comes your way is in alignment with how you want to live your day to day life.

Let me give you an example.

When I first started my business, I was very clear the container of my business must support my value of family first. I also knew my business was based on integrity, truth, and respect. And, my business has brought me experiences that reflect these “walls.”

Over the last six months or so, I’ve begun to notice that while those “walls” of my buisness’ sacred container are still in place and are still important, I’ve evolved into a place where I am ready to be more specific.

I’ve deepened my connection to Source, deepened my absolute knowing there is more than enough for me, as well as the rest of the world, and I am more than enough to deserve to receive that ‘enoughness.’ My trust in the Universe is at such a different place than it was even a year ago.

Just as a flowerbed needs new dirt and regular water, a business’ sacred container requires regular upkeep. What I noticed about my own sacred container was that I had gotten a little “lazy” about my intentions (no judgment, just observation). I hadn’t shifted my daily practices to make sure I was including all of this transformation within my sacred container.

Now that I have this awareness, I’m ready to begin creating my new sacred container and excited to see where this leads.

How specific are you with your intentions for the sacred container of your business?
