Is money a teacher for you?
You know what really gets my goat?
The manifestation experts who say, “just do x and y and then money flows to you.” And they go on to give a million examples of how that has happened for them (and why you’re wrong if it isn’t flowing in this same way for you)..
I am not bothered that the money is flowing for them (happy to celebrate a good flow).
I am bothered that they aren’t acknowledging that something other than money is a teacher for them.
Here’s what I mean.
No matter how spiritual we are, no matter how embodied we are, no matter how in balance we are, we will always have something that comes into our lives that shakes things up and creates space us to grow and change.
That’s the nice way to say it.
The down and dirty way to say it is…there will always be something that creates pain in our lives.
The more people I work with as clients, the more I can see that there are areas of life (I call them categories) that just keep creating pain over and over, while other categories seem to automatically bring ease.
Sometimes it is money. Sometimes it is relationships. Sometimes it is health. Sometimes it is weight. Sometimes it is family. Sometimes it is choosing sovereignty.
I think of the categories that continually bring pain over ease as our teachers. They are the areas of our life that consistently gift us the opportunity to grow and evolve. What I’ve witnessed is that we generally have one or two areas where it gives the Unviverse the most bang for it’s buck in terms of expansion..
Now, the more conscious we get, the more tools we have to lean into our connection instead of disconnection, the more accepting we become of ourselves as we are now, the more aware we are of changes in our life so there is less pain involved in expansion..
But, there will always be something.
Why am I sharing this?
- Don’t beat yourself up if you aren’t exactly where you want to be in the category that causes you the most pain. Think of it as your “evolutionary space”. This is will ease the shame and guilt that tend to creep up if you continually have issues. Easing the guilt and shame will help you keep moving toward consciousness in this area.
- If you aren’t getting instant, easy-breezy results from someone else’s techniques, listen more deeply to that person. Are they saying things like: you’re doing it wrong if you don’t get my results? Just try harder? Chances are then, that the category they are sharing about IS NOT their teacher. This doesn’t mean they don’t have something to share, but their viewpoint and what works for them may be different than what you need.
Money is 1000% a teacher for me. Even though I knew it was part of my path to help others develop a new relationship with money, it took me a long time to allow myself to be visible in this space because I am not 100% complete in my personal money journey.
But what I am is deeply skilled in:
- Overcoming the heartbreak that happens when money goes awry
- Understanding the balance of human and divine in relationship to money
- Creating tools that support you in your journey to abundance
- Awareness of the potential potholes that we fall into around money
- Changing your identity around money to being someone who is flourishing in the area of money
- The receiving process
- How to ask for what you want in a way that you can receive it
These are the skills that will support you if like me, money is a teacher of yours.
