How to Not Fall Into the Gap

Next time you find yourself feeling frustrated (or worse) because you are still in the gap between where you are and where you want to be, I invite you to try these three steps. You’ll find that you significantly reduce the time before what you want begins to unfold right before your eyes.

  1. There will ALWAYS be a gap

Whether it’s the 24/7/365 availability of the Internet, instant messaging, or any of the other plethora of technologies that allow us to get what we want or need RIGHT NOW, we seem to have morphed into a group of people that want what we want when we want it.

I must include myself in this group!

Yet, when it comes to manifesting or growing a business, there will always be an area where you are in the gap, between identifying what you want and achieving it.

That’s simply a part of the process. You haven’t done something wrong. You don’t even necessarily have anything more to do. This simply means you are in the “in between” place.

Knowing and understanding that helps to take some of the pressure off.

  2. Stop pushing against where you are

Continuing to focus on where you are—whether that’s with too small of a list size, or not enough income, or not enough clients—creates your focus of energy on not enough.

Continuing to run the dire circumstances through your mind creates resistance and ends up pushing what you want further away. This is when the gap shifts from narrow to wide.

  3. Focus on the feeling of what you want

The best place to start—whether you know what your next external action step is or not—is with how what you want feels. Close your eyes and let yourself feel the emotions and the feelings that come up when you envision getting to that next level in your business.

How would you feel if your list size got big enough to step into those Joint Venture opportunities you want?

How would you feel if that new website went up?

How would it feel to have your appointment book filled with the perfect number of clients?

Play with these three steps for a while. Even if you aren’t physically ready to take an action step, the more you play the faster what you want can unfold.
